Here we go again!

Postby Kenny on Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:35 pm

Hello fasting friends,

It's that time again, fasting time!! I'm on day 2, I just made up a batch of delicious broth, I've stocked up on fruits for juicing and some herbal tea and I'm off. Anybody out there??

Good to see you again Kenny? Just curious, what do you drink on your fast? BB is slow around Thanksgiving. Cannot imagine why.
God Bless you:
Ron

Hi Ron, how have you been? I'm good. Day 3 today, I'm just headed out the door to the gym for some yoga and probably a little cardio, then my favorite part, sauna and steam! Ron, I drink freshly juiced juices, I have a juiceman junior which I've used for years now, great juicer. My favorites are probably a carrot, apple, orange combination. I also like watermelon and grapefruit. I generally strain the juice cuz fresh out of the juicer alot of pulp sneaks through. My broths have evolved into a masterpiece! They are by far my favorite fasting staple. I use a whole host of veges, herbs and spices and I simmer it overnight then strain it thoroughly to remove all the solids ending up with a phenomenal, rich, delicious broth. I bought a huge pot so I can make about 3 gallons in one batch, then I freeze it in half gallon containers to keep it fresh throughout the fast. I'll tell you, I nice steaming cup of my broth and you feel like you've just had a meal! I have a recipe if you like, it's called "The worlds greatest broth", which is the basis then I've tweaked it to my liking over the years. Apart from that, a little herbal tea, I particularly like peppermint, or a detox tea. I do allow one concession with my tea, and that's a little honey. Then of course there's water, the cornerstone of any good fast. Generally on any long fast, I'll do a certain number of days on just water, which is always a challenge, but a challenge I enjoy. OK, day 3 is off and running and I'm feeling good... hello gym....

Hmmm... it's quiet around here these days. Well, I'm on day 10 of my fast, and all is well. It always amazes me when I'm still passing solid stools after nothing but juice and broth (both thoroughly strained) for so many days. Anyway, not a great deal to report. Anybody out there.....

Hi - I'm just checking back in from a bit of time away - I know the feeling of wondering if someone is "out there." Hope your fast goes well. I'm still reaping positive benefits from the one I did in July/August, and am thankful that the Lord helped me stick with it, even though the nausea at the end, when I tried just water, still leaves a bad impression in my mind. But I'm sticking with the one-day-a-week fast, and that has also become a positive thing in my life. May your time with the Lord be sweeter than honey!

Hi Janat,

Thanks for popping in!! It's nice to have a little company finally... I'm on day 19 today, well, technically closing out day 18 but coming into day 19 now. My fast is going great. I feel better than I have in months and I'm planning to keep on going for awhile yet...
