Hello fellow exercisers,
The following is a post from my "Fasting Journals and Testimonies" entry here at FreedomYou. I thought that I would "cut & paste" it here because it pertains to exercise.
God Bless, Digitalsmiles (Bev)
Hi everyone!
Praise the Lord! It is day 8 and I have lost 8 pounds. God is good! I am on a 15 day juice fast and I prayed that I might lose 1 pound a day so I could drop 15 pounds (knowing that I usually gain a few pounds right away when I stop fasting). I weighed 160 pounds when I started and now I weigh 152. I have one week to go and want to lose another 7 pounds.
I am including exercising (treadmill and my new game Wii) in my daily regiment. Have you heard of Wii? It is a Nintendo Play Station. I am not much on playing games on the computer or on a Play Station but I heard that it was really good exercise so my husband and I agreed to purchase it. I mostly wanted to buy it because it sounded like a super way for my husband and I to exercise together and have fun together. Well it is all I hoped it would be. We bowl and play tennis. We laugh and have a blast while we play. You have to stand up and do all the actions while a little character on the screen goes through the same actions. You actually need to perform just like in real life. It is great exercise! My thighs hurt really bad but it feels good because I know that I am building muscle. It is mostly upper body exercise but when I bowl I bend my legs and twist a bit when I throw the ball so I am even getting exercise on my waist too. There are lots of other sports to play also. There is baseball, golf and boxing that come with the Wii Play Station. My husband tells me that there are other games that you can purchase as well. I can see that it is helping me lose weight because I actually work up a sweat. I am going to copy and paste this in the exercise section as well.
I have not had the time to say hello to others on here (except Judy) but I have read many of your posts. God bless you all as you pursue God and his discipline in your lives. I pray that you will continue to grow in Christ as you shrink in your flesh. LOL That is my aspiration as well.
I hope to find the time to comment and hopefully encourage some of you as I read your posts. I always get encouragement as I read your comments and posts.
